Work & Study Program
The opportunity of a lifetime! Work and study at the same time! Improve your Chinese by living in Taiwan while teaching English! Having difficulties improving your Chinese at home? There is no faster way to improve your Chinese than by living in Taiwan. Not only can you rapidly improve your Chinese, but you also will be able to enjoy a comfortable lifestyle with the earnings from teaching English to the locals.
Work Study Program is a great chance to study Chinese at a university and teach English at schools/institutions. You may also participate in optional activities to further your Chinese study: language exchange program with college students, volunteer work at a company, and practice Chinese martial arts with a grand master at local studios or universities. Accommodation, meals, optional language exchange program, optional Kung-fu and art lesson fees, and Chinese Language Study tuition are all covered! You will also be assisted in the paperwork process: visitor visa, work permit, resident visa, Alien Resident Certificate (ARC), and national health insurance card.
Program Highlights:

- Utilize Taiwan's well-developed transportation system for easy travel and access to mountains and oceans.

Program Duration: At least 6 months or one year
Program Starting Date: The fourth Monday of each month.
Qualifications: Only those who fulfill the following application requirements are welcome to apply:
- Hold a 2- or 3-year degree in any major plus a TEFL/TESOL certificate, or hold a bachelor's degree or above in any major (graduating students can apply early); AND
- Hold a valid passport of any of the following six English-speaking countries: USA, Canada, United Kingdom, South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand.
- Be a team player who is eager to learn, enjoys new friendships, and loves to teach.

- Take Chinese lessons two hours a day.
- Contribute four hours a day to teaching English. Minimum 20 hours a week.

Chinese Classes:
EU Growth has teamed up with Tamkang University (http://foreign.tku.edu.tw/TKUEnglish/index.asp) located in central Taipei to offer Chinese language study classes. The lessons will be two hours a day arranged in the daytime. After successful completion of each level, participants will receive an official certificate granted by Tamkang University.

Notes:
- 2 hours of class a day; 5 days a week; 18 weeks per semester. Classes offered during Tamkang University's academic calendars.
- Levels 102 & 201 are bridge courses. Class will be divided according to proficiency tests. Instructor will formulate teaching plan accordingly.
